  5. This session will give information on how to access FirstSearch and
  6. gives passwords for you to search OCLC's WorldCat.
  7.

  9. Log on    To log on to FirstSearch:
  10.  
  11.           1.   Connect to the Internet using the instructions for
  12.                your institution.
  13.  
  14.           2.   Enter telnet 132.174.100.2 or telnet
  15.                epic.prod.oclc.org and press <Enter>.  FirstSearch
  16.                responds "You are connected to OCLC Online
  17.                Reference Services.  Enter your authorization."
  18.  
  19.           3.   Enter your FirstSearch authorization number and
  20.                press <Enter>.  FirstSearch responds "Enter your
  21.                password."
  22.                (Our authorization number is "100077527")
  23.  
  24.           4.   Enter your FirstSearch user password and press
  25.                <Enter>.  FirstSearch responds "Welcome to
  26.                FirstSearch."
  27.                (Use "fsearch" as a password.)
  28.  
  29. Log off   Use BYE to log off FirstSearch.
  30.  
  31.           1.   Enter bye and press <Enter>.  FirstSearch responds
  32.                with a confirm prompt.
  33.  
  34.           2.   Enter y and press <Enter>.  FirstSearch responds
  35.                "You are disconnected."
  36.  
  37.           3.   Disconnect from the Internet using the
  38.                instructions for your institution.
